Steven and Syreeta – Wedding Highlight Film
So happy for my good friend and brother in faith Steven finding his soulmate in Syreeta. Their wedding took place just outside of their hometown of Detroit, Michigan at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial. An early morning ceremony, the overcast broke just in time for their vows, but also allowed for capturing some beautiful moments overlooking Lake Michigan.
This was my first time producing a wedding film. I shot everything in this highlight film with one camera, but also had a friend that shared video with me for the full length version for the couple. I used my Panasonic GH4, my Atomos Ninja 2 recorder, my Glidecam and tripod, and rented a zoom lens for the ceremony. The slow motion footage was shot at 48fps natively on my GH4. It was a spontaneous experiment that I think turned out beautifully. They really created an opportunity to express, experience and share the grand love being celebrated by Steven and Syreeta.
I didn’t fly in to Michigan in time to attend the rehearsal the night before, which in hindsight was an insane decision. I filmed the wedding as a last minute favor for Steven when their original videographer dropped out. I had already planned on attending the wedding but would have performed with less anxiety if I had arrived the day before. I’m very excited about how this turned out, but also very interested to see what can be done with a team, and better planning.
